With the buzz doing the rounds ahead of the arrival of Fabio Cannavaro later this afternoon, the PPCFC Academy youngsters concentrated on their football and dispatched their main rivals, Preah Khan Reach 4-0 at the RSN Stadium. The two teams are the strongest in the Barclays Capital ISF U-14 Champions League but it was the superior passing, movement and stamina of the 9-man Crown Academy that put PKR to the sword this morning. Yeu Muslim headed Crown in front after 15 minutes, from a well-worked move on the left flank, and Vat Samnang slammed in a 2nd ten minutes into the 2nd half. Orn Chanpolin capped a fine game with a goal before keeper-cum-striker Chhuot Senteang rounded off the victory with a neat finish just before the end. Crown stay at the top of the league table, with games at U-10, U-14 and U-18 girls levels being played in Tuol Kork every Sunday. The PPCFC B-team in the Premier League lost 3-4 to Komar Takhmao. After lunch, the Academy boys will head for Phnom Penh airport where they will welcome Cannavaro as he arrives in Cambodia.
