Mismatch with HAGL

The U-16 Cambodia national team took to the field on Tuesday morning at the opening of the new football training center at Tonle Bati, against opponents from HAGL Arsenal JMG Academy, who it turns out will be representing Vietnam in the AFF U-19 Youth Championships in Indonesia in September. Nothing short of a complete mismatch as the U-16s are mostly 14 or 15 years old, playing against 18 year olds. The more experienced and stronger players from Vietnam ran out easy 3-0 winners in what was the first game on the new playing pitches at the center, which has cost more than $2.2 million to build. HAGL are due to play another friendly, most likely against Svay Rieng U-19s, on Friday.

It's good that they're going against bigger, older opponents. They'll go against bigger, maybe older, opponents anyway in international competitions. In fact, they should always practice against bigger, older opponents to get used to.
