Teab Vathanak looks out on the action, having moved to the top of the Golden Boot table. Photo nicksellsphotography
Teab Vathanak joined Julius Chukwumeka at the top of the Golden Boot standings for the C-League's leading goalscorer yesterday, with 2 more goals for Naga as they stuttered to a 2-1 win over Prek Pra. That took his tally to 11 goals and both he and Chukwumeka leapfrogged over Nuth Sinoun, who'd led the table with 10 goals, before limping out of his match on Saturday with an ankle injury. Vathanak, 25, is a proven goalscorer in the C-League and was a regular in the Cambodia national team before suffering a spate of injuries. He's now returned to full fitness and his knack of being in the right place at the right time will serve Naga well if they are to retain their C-League title. He's been with Naga for 3 years now and was previously with Kampot and Hello United.
