Tough win

The Crown first-team beat the African San Siro team 2-1 at RSN Stadium this afternoon in a practice match. The African team had recently lost 4-2 against the Cambodia national team and were littered with MCL players from different clubs. In the first of three thirty-minute halves, Baldwin Ngwa, back after injury, twice went close, with a mistimed attempt and then a header that went the wrong side of the upright. Adriano Pellegrino also sent a powerful free-kick inches wide before the break. Pellegrino drilled in a low shot which the keeper spilled but Ngwa just failed to get a touch, he was also close to a Koen Bosma cross which Leng Makara blasted into the side netting at the back stick. The substitute also saw another shot blocked by the San Siro stopper and Ngwa was unlucky to see an effort cleared to safety after he flicked the ball over the keeper. In the final minute of the second period, Odion Obadin arrived late to power a header into the net, feeding off a delightful Bosma free-kick to give his team the lead. Just 4 minutes into the third period, Makara smashed the ball against the cross-bar from Pellegrino's pass and then headed Va Sokthorn's cross into the keeper's hands. Three minute later and Ngwa's first effort was blocked but his second attempt spun off a defender's leg and found the corner of the net for Crown's second. Matnorotin poked a shot wide from Pellegrino's floated cross but it was San Siro that scored next, on 78 minutes, after an error from Kok Boris. Moments later, Thourng Da was alert to clear the danger from his own line. There was little further goalmouth action as the game came to a close with victory in Crown's favour.
