Regular competition

The Phnom Penh Crown Academy continue to dominate their Barclays Capital ISF Champions League matches this season, having won the championship last season as well. To-date they've played ten games, won them all, rattled in 120 goals without conceding a single goal. A fabulous record in anyone's book though clearly the Academy boys are simply too good for the opposition. Their expert coaching, tactical awareness and fitness regime is too hot to handle for the other teams in the weekly competition, but the important factor, is that it provides them with regular matches. The competition is for the U-14 age group and the majority of the Academy boys are still aged 12 or 13, with only 4 boys from the 22-strong Academy squad having just passed their 14th birthdays. To supplement their football diet, head coach Bouy Dary arranges matches against older aged teams and will again look to take the Academy abroad to Singapore, Indonesia or Vietnam this year to further expand their international experience.

As for the Barclays Capital ISF Champions League, the goals have been raining in this season with Yeu Muslim and Pov Ponvuthy both tied on 19 goals apiece and Mat Sakrovy close behind on 17 goals. Next up are Orn Chanpolin and Vat Samnang on 10 goals each. 4 of the youngest Academy boys turn out each Sunday for the B-team in the Premier League where they play alongside non-Academy teammates. The results for the Champions League team so far this season, are as follows:

Wow! That's some record - a credit to the players, the coaching staff and PPCs vision and academy system.
