Play-offs decided

Teab Vathanak, Naga's skipper for the day, just moments after the final whistle today, when he netted 5 goals in their 9-4 success
There was a surprise in store for Phnom Penh Crown when they met Preah Khan Reach this afternoon in their final regular season Metfone C-League match. Expected to win, they failed and will now have the hardest semi-final game against leaders Naga, as they finished in 4th spot. Preah Khan, with their 3-1 success, will now meet BBU in the other semi-final. Goals from Chea Samnang, Khuon Laboravy and Sam El Nasa put Crown to the sword, with Keo Sokngorn offering their solitary reply; all the goals coming in the 2nd half. Naga confirmed their number 1 finish with a convincing 9-4 romp over Wat Phnom, providing us with the highest scoring game of the season. Whilst Phlong Chanthou will feel a bit peeved, netting a hat-trick for Wat Phnom, their main destroyer was Teab Vathanak, who scored five for Naga to take his season's tally to 21 goals, and his teammate Chin Chom, back in the team after months out following a moto accident, and he was as pleased as punch to score a hat-trick. Sun Sovanrithy scored the other and made a big impact after coming on as sub. The defeat confirmed Wat Phnom's relegation from the top flight. More detail on the games later.
Oh and before I forget, the date of the C-League championship final and 3rd place decider have been changed. They've been known all season long but the football federation have seen fit to amend the dates, just 2 weeks before the final. The final will now take place on Saturday 21 August, and the third place game will be the day before. Unbelievable.
