The students march on

BBU's Cambodian international midfielder Chhun Sothearath who scored twice against Chhmao Khmao
BBU needed a win against already-relegated Chhmao Khmao yesterday to seal their spot in the Metfone C-League play-offs and they did exactly that, and rather emphatically as well. The Black Cats from Svay Rieng province have had a tough season and yesterday was another trouncing they could've done without. The 8-0 win for BBU looked on the cards from the moment they opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Nelson Oladiji had a simple tap-in after a slip by the goalkeeper, though worryingly for BBU he limped off on the half-hour, and two more goals later in the half put BBU on course for a landslide. Chhun Sothearath guided his shot inside the post on 37 minutes and sub Phin Pheara netted in time added on after Nuth Sinoun had been denied. The second-half avalanche took 17 minutes to materialize, when Sophat Chansokunthina touched in from a corner to put the students four-up. Nuth Sinoun capped a breakaway with a superb finish ten minutes later, Oum Chandara poked in a rebound on the half-hour and BBU rounded it off with another goal each for Nuth Sinoun and Chhun Sothearath, the latter an unstoppable 30 yard drive that arrowed into the top corner. It finished 8-0 but it could've been a lot more though BBU will hope that the limping Nelson Oladiji will recover in time for the play-offs that were booked with this success.
BBU line up before yesterday's game, partly obscured by a raindrop on my camera lense!
