1 goal is enough

Crown were dominant for much of their 1-0 win over the Army. Back Row LtoR: Sovannrithy, Tiny, Ota, Obadin, Sopanha, Bunchhay. Front Row: Sokumpheak, Njoku, Narith, Chaya, Sothearith
Phnom Penh Crown moved a step closer to retaining their Metfone C-League Championship with a 1-0 win over the Army this afternoon. Kouch Sokumpheak scored the all-important goal on 27 minutes with a free-kick move that came straight off the training ground. It took Crown to 41 points with nearest rivals Naga on 34 points after their 5-0 win over Chhlam Samuth. The Army had their goalkeeper Sou Yaty to thank for keeping the scoreline down with five excellent saves, particularly during the first half when Crown were in total control. More later.

What about the goal difference Andy! Can Preah Khan Reach steal a point from PPC? Game on v Naga!

Anon 4:06PM. It's the three points that really matter, with someone like JO in their team then Naga are guaranteed to score more goals than us. We'll have to wait and see how the PKR game turns out in 10 days time.

PKR has the best formation of any team in the league, and with such a good defence (Sok Rithy, Raksmey and Oum Mic) and other quality players (Prak Mony Udom and Ravy) in their team - pose a stern test for Phnom Penh Crown. It was 2-2 in the first round!

You are entitled to your opinion about PKR. I happen to disagree. But then I would of course. I have seen those players you mention in nearly every game this season and I have a different view on their ability. I have to agree that Sok Rithy and Khuon Laboravy are two of the better players in the country, but PKR have not lived up to their pre-season hype in winning the Hun Sen Cup, but cannot be underestimated in a one-off game. However, I believe Crown have the ammunition to beat the Military Police-backed team next Sunday. Even though I'm the world's worst tipster, I'll go for a 2-1 PPCFC victory.

PPC now look shaky at the back after losing the talented Sovannrity and captain Sothearith. Ravy and Prak Mony Udom will carve them up on the flanks and Phan I Rotha is in good form and has scored some telling goals this season!

Moul Daravoan is the best left-back in the MPL. He plays for the U16s,U19s, U21 and U23 sides! PKR is good.
