Boris signs on

Kok Boris (pictured with Vice President Tommy Lim) joined Phnom Penh Crown in October 2012 after featuring in two French/Euro-Khmer touring parties and gaining experience for clubs in France, where he was born. Boris qualifies for Cambodia through his parents and has grown in stature since joining the club, capable of performing to a very high standard either in midfield, or more recently, in defence. So it’s great news for all Crown fans that Boris today signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until August 2015. Boris said: “I’m so happy because it’s a heart choice for me… to stay long time with our club because we have still a lot of things to build up together. So for me Phnom Penh Crown FC is a family, my favourite club in Cambodia, I’m so glad to extend with them. Now to focus on the MCL!” Head coach Sam Schweingruber is a happy man after seeing Kok Boris sign on the dotted line and pledge himself to Crown until the end of next season. The Swiss-born tactician had this to say about his utility Khmer-French star; “He has shown how much he cares for our club and Cambodian football by committing to be part of our plans for the next season as well. Boris is working hard daily to improve himself and the team and his progression has also been noticed by the National Team’s coach. In our team he is a very important member, especially because he can play different positions. We use him most often as a Center Back where we need his experience, speed and confidence on the ball. I am very pleased to have Boris with the team for this and next season.”
