Probably the most nondescript match of the Metfone C-League season to-date took place in the early kick-off this afternoon. The Army met Prek Pra and despite some huffing and puffing, the game was decided by a single goal on 18 minutes. Soeung Chan Vanno sent Phlong Chanthou on the chase and the striker chipped the ball over Prek Pra keeper Yok Ary and watched with relief as it crept over the goal-line. 1-nil to the Army and that was effectively it. Prek Pra offered nothing until Mat Hasan fired a shot inches wide eight minutes from time, with the Army just shading possession and collecting the points. A very drab affair. To be honest, I did well to stay awake. Let's hope we don't see any more of these games.
