Read all about it

The top table at the AFC President's Cup press conference including (from right) Bojan Hodak, Rithy Samnang and Khiev Sameth.
Saturday morning at the Phnom Penh Hotel, was an opportunity for the local Khmer press, television and print media, to get the low-down on the AFC President's Cup competition, which will begin next Saturday at the Olympic Stadium. Phnom Penh Crown will represent Cambodia, as the league champions, against the national champions of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan. It's the biggest international club tournament ever held in Cambodia, hence the press conference. Officials from the Football Federation of Cambodia were at the top table, alongwith Crown President Rithy Samnang, the man behind the competition coming to Cambodia for the first-time, as well as Crown's head coach Bojan Hodak. There were a couple of speeches, from FFC Vice-President Khiev Sameth and Samnang, and then a Q&A session with the press boys asking their usual array of dumb-ass questions. They also had it spelt out to them in a long press release. Three of the Crown playing squad also took part; Kouch Sokumpheak, Thul Sothearith and Tieng Tiny. It all went pretty well and hopefully the message will get out to the masses. A television commercial, with the legendary singer Preap Sovath helping out, will be on local television next week to shore up the message. The three games that Crown will play will all be televised live by Bayon TV and TVK though we also need bums on seats to ensure Crown are helped by a 12th man in the form of the audience.
